As with last year, Jordan had the choice of having a party or taking the money to spend on whatever he likes. He took the money...wise child that he is. Because we don't have family here to invite over and make Jordan's day special, we said he could invite 2 friends to go to the movies with him and then have pizza and cake at our house afterwards. Initially he was set on 2 of his school friends but later changed his mind and asked the Thompson twins.
We know Lisa & Keith (the twins' parents) through church but Lisa is also Deb's sister. When we were away in California last January for Warren's Kong New Year's Party, Lisa & Keith took the boys with them to Creede where they had a weekend of snow, puppies and fun. The twins are smack-bang in age between Jordan and Cullen so the kids get along well (until Jordan decided they weren't playing the game HIS way!)
We took the boys to see Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in 3D at the cinema.
It is probably the first year that Warren hasn't decorated Jordan's birthday cake. That's 8+ years of decorating that may be gone forever.
It was just easier to pick out a cake and Jordan picked out a caramel cake this time.

I can't believe the boy I brought home from the hospital yesterday is now 10!
This one isn't allowed to get to 10. I forbid it.
Kassidi is the hippy girl (like her aunt Deb)
Kelly is the tomboy (like her mom Lisa). Kelly has better 'boy clothing' than Jordan does! Jordan has a secret crush on Kelly and he sat next to her during the movie and on the ride home in the car.
While sitting at the dinner table, Warren caught Jordan gazing at Kelly as she was talking which was very cute.
