Presidents Day is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February in honor of George Washington, the 1st President of the United States. The corporate employees packed their lunches this morning and slumped off to work while the government workers (including my mailman) slept in this morning since Presidents Day is a federal holiday.
The boys had the day off school so after a lazy start, we headed to the indoor pool. It seems most of Highlands Ranch had the same idea because the place was packed. Fortunately there are 3 other rec centers in the area and I'm sure they were all very busy. It was noisy too.
The lifeguards were very alert. Their eyes darted back and forth over children's heads making sure no one disobeyed the rules and nobody drowned.
The boys chose this rec center's pool because its the only one of the 4 that has the log crossing.
They waited patiently for their turn.
I wonder what they were saying.
The challenge is to stay upright all the way across.
Its not that easy.
