This morning I was woken up by Jordan when he gave me a small cookie as a Valentine's Day gift. Cullen gave me a handmade card which came with a hug and a kiss. Warren got the same from Cullen. For breakfast I made the boys heart-shaped pancakes with red chocolate drizzled on top. I also gave them strawberry milk (mainly for the color) but they didn't like that too much. After dinner I had a heart shaped cake for each of them.
Warren and I are over Valentine's Day and we don't do anything special. Here comes the 'corny' statement for the purposes of making everyone puke..."we have Valentine's Day in our house every day". That's far from the truth and I don't think love would be genuine if we had Valentine's Day every day. I think the mundane parts of our life makes the romantic times more fun and meaningful.
Teaching our boys to be romantic is one of my goals and although they are already affectionate beings, when the boys are a bit older they will be taking me on dates so they learn how to treat a girl well. Initially I think our dates will be to the local McD's but they will learn to order and pay for the food and engage in conversation (before they go off and play in the playarea). Hopefully when they are in their late teens and early 20's they will refrain from playing in the McD's playarea when they are on a proper date!!
