We have a Colorado hiking book that gives us a good overview of each hike and whether its doable with kids. The one we chose today is only a few minutes drive from our house and is along the Coyote Song Trail.
The trail is an easy and short walk through wide-open meadows below the Rocky Mountain foothills, passing interesting red rock formations. There were many people on the trail including cyclists and runners.
We also saw a B-17 Bomber fly over and learnt that there is a company that offer 25-30 minute flights to those who wish to pay the $430 fee. The B-17 "Liberty Belle" is one of the only 14 B-17 Bombers that still fly today.
