Our fence was in desperate need of repair and paint.
It has been gray for years and the Cottonwood tree on the side of the house has been growing into the fence, warping it and making a mess of it. We didn't go away this fall break so we tackled the fence instead.

Everyone was decked out in painting clothes, paintbrushes, rollers and if you're Cullen - the all essential cowboy hat.
Its probably a good thing he wore the hat because he and paint don't get along that well. He would have had chocolate brown 'highlights' if his head hadn't been covered.

Everyone started out really well for the 1st hour. Soon Warren & I were left doing the 'wax on, wax off' motions with paintbrushes.
My nagging finally paid off. Warren went to the Home Depot, bought a paint sprayer and the thing worked like a charm. Of course I wasn't allowed to use it so I was stuck painting the horrible parts of the fence like behind the bushes and shrubs, getting poked and scratched in the process.
The bleeding, infections and near amputations that followed didn't get my any sympathy from Warren.

Before (note the concrete strips and wood holding the fence together to the right of Warren)

The boardwalk looks amazing compared with how it looked before.

I'm happy because my 'nest' looks better. Warren's happy because he has a new power tool.
