Thanksgiving is a huge deal here in America - some say its even bigger than Christmas which I don't understand because at Thanksgiving you don't get gifts!
I am learning about the history of this country in preparation for applying for dual citizenship which we can do next year. Now, before my family panics or calls me a traitor, I won't give up my SA citizenship but having dual citizenship (if SA will allow it) will help with travel (fewer visas) and voting.
For his class project Jordan was given an old fashioned wooden clothes pin and was told he had to either make a pilgrim or an indian out of it. Now I ask you, who in their right minds would make a pilgrim when you can make an Indian complete with feathers, bow and arrows??
Jordan was very excited about the project and we took our time getting the right stuff to dress and decorate the pin. It turned out pretty well and Jordan is very pleased with it. He's taken to sewing now and has sewed a blanket and a pillow for the Indian and plans to make a teepee for him too. I wonder which parent he gets that from!! Waaaaaarren??
