Evergreen is always a fun place to take visitors. Its quaint, its in the foothills and it has a Baskins & Robin ice cream store and a wonderful pizzeria called Beau Jos!
It also has a lake that freezes over in the winter. When we arrived at Evergreen Lake, there were a number of fishermen doing some ice fishing (some in little tents) and so we knew it was safe to venture out onto the frozen water.
It was freezing cold, an icy wind was blowing and we had layers upon layers on to keep us warm. Jarred fell at one point and his jeans froze like they'd been starched.
Lauren & Jordan decided to brave the cold to try and make ice angels.
Snowball fights was the main sport between Warren and the kids.
Back in the UK, they are lucky to get a dusting of snow during the Winter and so when the kids saw the frozen lake and the amount of snow lying around (which wasn't much by CO standards) they were delighted. They kept saying "I'm going to tell my mates at school that I walked on a frozen lake!". (Say it with a British accent and it sounds way cool!).
