This year we decided to attend our new church's Fall Festival celebration which is a Halloween alternative. Entrance fee was a bag of candy which we readily supplied. They had organized games and jumping castles for the kids and it went off really well. It was the best thing because the evening was really cold and I was dreading walking the streets, knocking on doors for candy. Many churches, day care centers and schools are now organizing indoor events as an alternative to trick-or-treating and although I like the old tradition of walking door-to-door, its really nice to have a warm place or the kids to go to where they have fun and are safe. Plus they served hot chocolate so I was really happy!
