I love Autumn. There is a crackle in the air, a smell that means Winter is coming. The colors change and remind me of Africa - rich yellows, dark oranges, dusty browns and I get homesick. The weather is perfect, offering sunny and warm days but a cooler nip at night. There is the wonderful smell of gingerbread lattes at Starbucks and of course there is the promise of Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately there is also the raking of the leaves (mainly from my neighbor's tree) and the boys enjoy helping but they get side-tracked especially when they see the piles of leaves forming. Suddenly its time to play and the chore of raking goes out the window. So we abandoned the chore, played, laughed and had fun and left the leaves for Warren to do that evening :)
