Spring Break: Bear Lake

This spring break we decided to use our RCI certificate at a timeshare resort in Utah since we'd never been to that state before. It would mean driving north through Colorado and the south part of Wyoming to get to Utah and usually I love road trips but the weather forecast was not in our favor so I was a bit nervous about this 9-hour trip.

We had packed our car the night before so when we got up in the early hours of the morning, all we had to do was pack toiletries and we were on our way. The conditions on the road weren't the best and I was on my nerves most of the time when the wind blew the snow across the road, which made a slippery and icy pathway for cars and trucks alike. Passing trucks was the worst part and I crouched in my seat and make nervous noises which didn't help Warren who was doing his best to drive in the horrible conditions. At times the sun came out and the scenery was lovely.

We stopped at Laramie, Wyoming to have breakfast and it was a welcome break from the tense drive in the car. But we soon had to brave the roads again. As we got closer to Utah, the weather got better and we saw some lovely scenery as we drove along.

The RCI resort is situated on Bear Lake which is really pretty and must be lovely in the summertime when you can go out on a boat and swim on the beaches. Our apartment was a 1-bedroom with a bathroom, open-plan living, kitchen and dining room with a murphy bed in the living area for the kids.

We unpacked and spent the next 2 days relaxing. I read on the sofa while Warren built a model, Jordan built a new Lego structure and Cullen played a new DS game.

We also watched movies and Cullen found a new way of relaxing (as only he could!)
